ReplyDeleteYes I can send to the USA, but it is at your own risk. No refunds will be given for items seized in customs. As you will have seen from the plans, some of the parts can be constructed from items readily available at Maplins etc (I suppose that would be Radioshak for you) but others will need to be purchased as finished articles. The bit you really need to get started is the Deutsch Looping Mesh. Sorry you couldn't find my supplies page, but it is there, buried among the suppliers of hitmen and prostitutes. It's hard to get the balance right between transparency and caution with this. Bear with me as I'm quite new to this sort of thing. If you still can't find it, contact me with your swiss address as above.
Looks great. However, I really can't figure out which part counteracts the issues of "time's arrow" and the Boltzmann's entropy issues for macroscopic processes. Don't want to just turn into a billion pieces when arriving in 2013 (is that where you went?).
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul. If you re-read some of the caveats under "1. Beginnings" you'll note that the device operates probabilistically. All that is necessary for success is a non-zero chance of cohesion and the traveller will find themselves in the fork of the multiverse in which success is achieved.
DeleteAs to your other question, I haven't been anywhere yet, although I obviously do succeed at some point as my future self has posted here to confirm that. Incidentally, I have done some fascinating work on an entropic device, but I abandoned it in favour of a wave-function collapse device because of the very issues to which you, quite rightly, draw attention.
